Programme Submissions

Our programming year starts in late January each year, with our first focus being on securing authors with name recognition and draw. We then look to build thematic links across a diverse programme of events, an annual creative challenge that culminates in May, with tickets going on sale to our supporters in June, with general booking in July, before our annual festival in October.

We welcome submissions from publishers, publicists and traditionally published authors and poets across all genres.

Please send a specific pitches for the attention of Kate Sawyer, Artistic Director.

Our festival only runs for four days annually and we don't have room to profile or do justice to all the authors we are contacted by. Though we do try to make sure we respond to all submissions, the careful jigsaw puzzle of programming takes time, so please be patient as we consider where your author/work might fit within our events and as part of the picture across the East Anglian Literature Festival season.

Although we do try to include some local indie and self-published authors as part of our programme each year, and are working on initiatives for more inclusion, we encourage indie and self-published authors to make contact with our local sister festival, Foreword Festival - the UK's first Fringe Literature Festival, as their priority.
