Join author/gardeners Becky Searle and Sally Morgan for this ½ day workshop in which you will learn how to boost the diversity in your garden, no matter its size.
During this 4 hour workshop you will:
-Discover the secrets of soil as you explore the complexity of its life and how to protect your soil from harmful chemicals by gardening organically.
-Learn about diversity in planting and how to attract pollinators and predators. You will discuss food plants, flower structure, mini habitats, life cycle stages of beneficial insects and being able to identify them.
-Find out about the role of water in the garden to boost biodiversity (micro and full ponds), the role of dead wood in managing water and creating a resilient garden.
And, as an additional practical element, you will make a small minibeast habitat to take away.
The workshop will include a break for afternoon tea delivered to the workshop venue provided by FOLK CAFE. Menu: selection of sandwiches, sausage roll, scone with cream & folk compote, 1 cake bite, tea and filter coffee.
