It has always been the aim that the festival should not only be a celebration of books and authors, but also be a tool for making connections within the local community and encouraging the craft of writing and the enjoyment of reading for all ages. Hence our reconfigured tag line in 2023: Celebrating books and writing in the heart of East Anglia.
For the past two years we have run a Short Story Competition which has been part of our work towards these core aims, but this year - as we look to expand our offering to children and young people and foster stronger links with local schools and other educational institutions - we have formulated what we hope will be a more exciting and engaging challenge for all age groups.
So this year we invite writers of all ages and experiences to enter:
For our new and improved Creative Writing Competition we will welcome all forms of creative writing be it short story, micro fiction, play, haiku, poem, tv script or radio play or even song!
