ASHLEY HICKSON-LOVENCE

Tuesday 7th October 2025
CULFORD SCHOOL
COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL
ST BENEDICT'S CATHOLIC SCHOOL
Award-winning novelist Dr. Ashley Hickson-Lovence invites us into fourteen-year-old music-lover Ronny’s life in his multi-award winning novel WILD EAST. We follow Ronny as his mum decides they’re moving out of London following the traumatic death of his best friend, Maz. In East Anglia, as a Black teenager in a mostly white school, Ronny feels like a complete outsider.
Ashley will take students on an evocative journey through WILD EAST and uses it to facilitate the writing of personal and powerful poems that draw on your own unique life stories.

SERENA PATEL

Monday 13th October 2025
TOLLGATE PRIMARY SCHOOL
Serena Patel is the author of the Anisha, Accidental Detective series which has won the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award, The Week Junior Book Award and the Crimefest Best Novel for Children. She lives in the West Midlands with her family and believes all children deserve to feel seen in the stories they read and that books are an important tool for empathy.
Author Serena Patel joins us to talk about her new book Pia's Pet Club. She will introduce you to Pia, a girl who loves pets, but isn't allowed one of her own! She will test your pet-based knowledge with a PAWesome quiz (do you know what percentage of the time cats spend sleeping?) and you’ll get the chance to create your own pet story character!

This offer is only available until we sell out - so act quick!!
