Embrace this rare opportunity to learn from one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary fiction by joining award-winning author Monique Roffey for this intimate writing workshop.

Written stories on the page mimic the oral tradition in that action and emotion is dramatized and relevant information is summarised. We also call this ‘showing and telling’ and learning to get the mix right is key to becoming a storyteller for the page.

Being ‘told’ too much can be off putting both in speech and in fiction. There’s a psychologist behind the camera in the eye, who likes to puzzle for herself, who likes to SEE things on the page. This workshop deals with how to create scenes and how to choose the right words to make your scenes come alive.

Whether you're a seasoned writer or someone who has always wanted to put pen to paper, this session will challenge, inspire and unlock your creativity.

Book early to avoid disappointment.
