Celebrated British-Hungarian poet George Szirtes - winner of the T. S. Eliot Prize - opens this special evening reading from his celebrated work.
Following George’s reading and an audience Q&A the stage will belong to the audience for a lively open mic session hosted by Poetry Aloud.

George Szirtes’s twelfth book of poems, Reel (2004) won the T S Eliot Prize for which he has been twice shortlisted since. His latest collection is Fresh Out of the Sky (2021). His memoir ,The Photographer at Sixteen received the James Tait Black Prize in 2020.
Poetry Aloud
Poetry Aloud is a Suffolk-based poetry organisation dedicated to bringing poetry to new audiences through readings, workshops and events. The organisation runs regular popular open mic nights that have become a fixture of the local cultural calendar.
